Permit 2 - パーミット 2

前回に続き、今度はロサンゼルスでのプロジェクトの為のパーミット取得の最終段階。

朝８時から市役所でプランチェッカーとのミーティング。

Now, we are making efforts to obtain permits for a project in LA downtown. 

We had a meeting with a plan checker at 8:00 A.M at City Hall. 

今回はすんなりとOKが出たので一安心。

This time, everything went though smoothly, and I was so relieved. 

その後、ヘルス・デパートメント（保健所）へ行きミーティング。

こちらもパーミットがおりたので、とても良い日だった。

Then, I headed for a meeting with Environmental Health. 

We got permit from them, so it was a pretty encouraging day. 

一つのレストランを作るだけなのに、今回のプロジェクトは

Department of Building and Safety　

（建築関連）

Los Angeles Fire Department 　

（消防署）

City Planning Department　

（街の景観など）

Bureau of Engineering　

（一般歩道の使用、雨水の処理などに関して）

Bureau of Sanitation　

（グリーストラップ：オイル溜め）

Community Redevelopment Agency 

  (開発地域内なので外観などに関して）

County of Los Angeles Environmental Health Department　

（キッチン、トイレなどの設備に関して）

と、７つの部門から幾つもの項目に対して許可を取らなければならない。

残すところあと一つ。今週木曜日でOKが出れば全て終了。やっと工事に入れる・・・。

アメリカでは、工事に入るまでにとても多くの段階を踏まなければならない。

工事中、そして、工事終了後にもインスペクション（検査）があり、全てクリアーしないと

開店はできない。

We are simply making one small restaurant, but permits and clearances are required from the departments listed above. We have one more to go, and I am crossing my fingers.

Different from Japan, it takes such a long time before the construction can actually start. 

There are inspections during and in the end of the construction, and the restaurant can not start operating

until we pass all of them. 

今日はロングピーチのオフィスプロジェクトの仕上げ。

会議室のガラスウェールのカーテンの取り付けに同行した。

Today, I visited the job site of an office project in Long Beach.

The last item for this project was an installation of a curtain at a conference room glass wall. 

リセプションの雰囲気が、やわらかい物になった。このカーテンは、音の反響を防ぎ、プライバシーを保護する役目を果たしてくれる。
The atmosphere of reception area became nice and softer. This curtain works to diffuse the bounced sound, and creates semi-privacy in the conference room.

明日はミーティングが無いので、久しぶりに１日中オフィスで仕事するかな。
There is no meeting planned for tomorrow. It's been a while since I stayed in my office all day long last time.
