On the roof - 屋根の上

先日、ちょっとした修繕の為に去年デザインしたＭＯＭＯの屋上に朝早くから上った。店内からは見えないこういう裏の設備やパイプは面白い。インテリアデザインは装飾だけでは成り立たない。
In order to check a construction amendment process, I climbed up the roof of MOMO, a restaurant we designed last year. It is always interesting to see behind the scenes such as air conditioning equipment and vent pipes. Interior deign consists of more than fancy decorations.

ＭＯＭＯを手がけたコントラクターのホワン。陽気でとても人当たりの良く、信頼できる人。いろいろと融通を利かせてくれて感謝しているが、たまに連絡を絶つので今度気づかないうちに、額に発信機でも付けておこうと思う。
He is a general contractor, Juan, who always smiling and very friendly and reliable.
I appreciate all the efforts he made to complete this project, except the fact that he sometimes have a tendency to hide away. I am planning to install a GPS on his forehead.

屋根から見たパティオ。やしの木は種類によっては、植木鉢で育つらしい。学生の多いこの町は、無銭飲食者（食い逃げ）が多い為、フェンスの高さにオーナー共々気を配ったのを覚えている。

It is sort of amazing that a palm tree can grow in a pot depends on the type.

Eat-and-run is pretty popular in this student filled city, so the height of the fence was one of our main concern.

何でもたまに違う角度から見ると面白いものだ。この屋根の上にいる時に電話が鳴り、新たなプロジェクトの話が来た。ＭＯＭＯはやはりラッキースポットの様だ。

There is always a new discovery when I view a thing from a different angle.

While I was on the roof, my phone rung and a new project came in. MOMO must be a luck spot for me.
